An edge milling machine is an important piece of industrial equipment used in metal processing and has a wide range of uses in industrial applications. Edge milling machines are mainly used to process and trim the edges of workpieces to ensure the accuracy and quality of the workpieces. In industrial production, edge milling machines are widely used in various industries, including automobile manufacturing, aerospace, shipbuilding, mechanical processing and other fields.
Today, I will introduce the application of our edge milling machine in the chemical industry.
Case details:
We have received a request from a petrochemical pipeline enterprise that a batch of chemical engineering projects need to be carried out in Dunhuang. Dunhuang belongs to a high altitude and desert area. Their groove requirement is to make a large oil tank with a diameter of 40 meters, and the ground needs to have 108 pieces of various thicknesses. From thick to thin, transition grooves, U-shaped grooves, V-shaped grooves and other processes need to be processed. As it is a circular tank, it involves milling 40mm thick steel plates with curved edges and transitioning to 19mm thick steel plates, with a transition groove width of up to 80mm. Similar domestic mobile edge milling machines cannot meet such groove standards, and it is difficult to process curved plates while meeting the groove standards. The process requirement for a slope width of up to 100mm and a high thickness of 100mm is currently only achievable by our GMMA-100L edge milling machine in China.
In the first phase of the project, we selected two types of edge milling machines we produced and manufactured - GMMA-60L edge milling machine and GMMA-100L edge milling machine.
GMMA-60L steel plate milling machine
The GMMA-60L automatic steel plate edge milling machine is a multi angle edge milling machine that can process any angle groove within the range of 0-90 degrees. It can mill burrs, remove cutting defects, and obtain a smoother surface on the steel plate surface. It can also mill grooves on the horizontal surface of the steel plate to complete the flat milling operation of composite plates.
